Fuego es lo que puede llover

Hi friends and family!

Yesterday we were eating lunch with our branch president and his wife and this is how their converstation went:
Pte Torres: Parece que va a llover
Hna Martha: JA agua? fuego es lo que puede llover
This is the translation
Pte Torres: It looks like it’s going to rain
Sis Martha: HA water? Fire is what is can rain.
as in the only thing it can rain here in Nicoya is fire.
HA ha ha…
she wasn’t wrong lol.  It didn’t rain that day.  But I just feel like that conversation is an accurate description of Nicoya.  From what I’ve heard it’s one of the hottest areas in the mission.  But also I’ve been thinking about it and I really don’t feel the heat, at least not like I should.  And we walk all day every day, and I don’t feel that like I should either.  I should feel EXHAUSTED every day, and like when I get home I do feel very exhausted, but while I’m out there working in the burning heat, I don’t.  I really feel like God is protecting us, and strengthening us to do His work.   Like God promises in Mosiah 24:14,
”And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs… and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.”
I KNOW this promise is real.  And it’s true not just for physical burdens but mental burdens as well or whatever kind of burden we may have.  He gives us strength.  He loves us.  And through these burdens we will be made stronger.
I love you all, but know that God loves you more!!
